WESTERN METHOD
So many people are unaware that there are different schools of Feng Shui with different methods and applications, which is why it is easy to become confused.
The Western Method is also known as Practical Feng Shui and it is a school practiced by many, including me.
To apply the Practical Western Method:
It is based on using the entrance of the home when viewing the whole house, or by using the doorway of each room, when doing room-by-room.
The Bagua (pronounced bar-gwa) Map is the main tool used in applying Feng Shui.

The Practical Bagua is explained in simple detailed terms in my book
“Feng Shui – A Practical & Easy Guide”
The Bagua Map can be applied to the whole property, the house plan or room by room.
I believe, the Bagua map is best applied room by room, as it is more beneficial, especially if the occupants have any missing areas within their whole house plan.
Practitioners of the Western Method believe that the Energy enters through the doorways, as a compass is not necessary to apply Feng Shui with this method.
There are a variety of different Feng Shui schools and methods but none are better than another, as they all aim to produce positive results . However, the first rule they all agree on is to clean out the clutter. It is best to find a school you feel comfortable with and stay with it. Do not mix schools and methods as that is where the confusion will start.
The Western Method is easily applied and is the most practical application for our modern way of living, as it is not necessary for Feng Shui to be complicated.
The Practicality of the Western Method is in the use of items that are symbolic, as well as colour, numbers and furniture placement also play a part in this method. When the items are applied with positive intentions , it empowers the intent of the symbol to create positive results .
Many people recognise that they need to make a change in their lives and believe that Feng Shui can help them, which it can. You also need persistence and determination that it can happen for you, so when energy is flowing better, the results are more beneficial for the person if they are open to the possibility of change.
This means -
* Feng Shui can balance and harmonise a building, but if its occupants do nothing to balance their lives, then the Feng Shui will be of little benefit to them.
* Placing symbols randomly will also not work if they are not in their correct placement, which is why Feng Shui sometimes does not work for the amateur. A professional consultant, like myself, is always recommended.
Some people seem to have more results with Feng Shui than others. This is because everyone's life is different. It depends first on personal destiny and luck, then the application of Feng Shui will help strengthen positive aspects with whatever your path entails (Destiny - Luck - Feng Shui)
